Reversing the order of messages on threads

Is there any way of reversing the messages on threads so that the most recent ones are seen first?

If it could be done, would there be any support for this generally?

You can have your own individual setting on that - I think via your General Settings.

Yes - Thread Display Options - Newest first.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

        Thanks for that info, FF.

Personally, having tried following thread discussions attached to newspaper links, where one may have to find ones way to the bottom of several "pages" to reach the start of the discussion, then vertiginously work backwards to the top, I choose to keep things as they are, notwithstanding the minor inconvenience of paging through to the miost recent post.

I have been using the "newest first" option since the start and find it suits me very well. I suspect most don't, given the number of references to "above" in threads.

If the 'View first unread post in thread' button works (which it usually does for me) then the starting point will be the same for either option? In which case it seems more natural to read sequentially down the page rather than up.
