[Mark, it's okay, I won't let on]
Oh, well, I'd better publicly say that the vBulletin engineer, Steve, has done a wonderful job peering for hours into the deepest recesses of the system to find the problem. Technically it wasn't a 'bug' because it didn't affect the vBulletin software in general.
To Steve
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Sounds great. I'll go back over to 'Last CD Purchased' and try to post my offering once again. It's nearly too late for that text as I've just ordered another CD set, but it hasn't actually arrived yet, so it should still be within the rules.

Yes, Steve apologised that the fix didn't correct all the original problems. I don't think there were too many.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

FWIW, would strongly advise against pasting anything from Word; it's likely to introduce all sorts of undesirable characters (of the ASCII top-bit, not the human, kind). Better to use a plain text editor - with the emphasis on 'plain'. This BBS s/w is supposed to filter out stuff it can't cope with, but suggest not tempting fate.--

Fair enough. So we've given it a good test, but I'll try to be gentler in future!
