How do you make this visible whatever thread/board you are viewing? Frenchie's announcement when she set it up just said that you could turn it off or on - but I can't see how to do it.

It's only visible (or not) from the homepage, so you can't turn it on or off from any other page. That's a software issue and can't be changed (as I understand).
To make it invisible from the homepage, click on the chevrons to the left of 'Radio links' (that's Off) or to the left of 'Welcome' (that's On). But I think you probably knew that bit.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world. -
