Sorry to see the death at the age of 75 of Dave Swarbrick - probably the best known folk violinist, who was on the folk scene in the sixties and after adding his sound to tracks on Unhalfbricking and Liege and Lief became a full time member of Faiport Convention playing violin and contributing vocals. RIP Swarb.

Liege and Lief has been favourite listening since LP days. Very glad to hear him live for the first (and last) time a couple of years ago when we went to a most enjoyable concert with Martin Carthy at our local Arts Centre.

Somewhat disappointed in Martin Handley this morning choosing to play a track from a CD that no doubt said it was by Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick but the track played featured only Martin's guitar and vocals with not a violin in sight.Comment
