The rule is that people shouldn't be disruptive in a way that provokes some sort of quarrel, derailing the main topic. Posts may be removed if that happens. Discussions are slightly more relaxed on Platform 3 - unless matters deteriorate beyond redemption when part or all of the thread may be removed. The little black triangle with the exclamation mark in the middle, bottom left of each message, allows members to report a message, or you can send me a PM.
The main function of the forum is to discuss BBC Radio 3 and matters relating to its content. Radio 3's current service licence states: "Around its core proposition of classical music, its speech-based programming should inform and educate the audience about music and culture. Jazz, world music, drama, the arts and ideas and religious programming should feature in its output."
In the words of Radio 3's original (2007) service licence: "Through its interactive aspects, such as message boards, Radio 3 should facilitate the creation of communities of interest."
They axed the messageboards, allegedly to save money, so we started our forum to do what the BBC no longer does - to foster 'communities of interest'.

Hello, Torpedo - Hope you get a lot more out of it than one or two others on this thread, including 'Stribro' who never returned!
There are a wide range of subjects, but the main focus is on Radio 3 and what it does (and doesn't!) do...It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
