Not that far from Pennsylvania, then?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well I live close by Clinton's Hill, approximately equidistant between California and a small uninhabited part of the USA.

Ah yes, the JFK memorial at Runnymede, designed by Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe. I really must visit sometime - thanks for the reminder, Bryn

Ah yes... various halloers have got various responses over the months and years. I think it's Krystal's antipodean location that's catalysed a number of the geographically-oriented posts - apart from the general welcoming vibes, o'course

Looking down the 'Hello' thread, there are several enthusiastic joiners who haven't gone on to be particularly active. I wonder if any are reading, and might say why...

I'm not doing so badly! I think a lot of people might feel a little overwhelmed or intimidated by this particular forum, due to its variety of points to be discussed and the wealth of knowledge of its users.

As a fairly "tempered" forum user I didn't let that put me off, especially at the beginning.

Plus where else am I supposed to ask silly questions about classical music, or discuss R3 programmes, contents and presenter(ess)s ??

"Gone Chopin, Bach in a minuet."
