I'll just have a mooch around now if that's OK.
Hi, Dai - yes, we're all at the stage of making interesting discoveries.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I have been more or less out of computer contact for the last three weeks and was staggered to discover that in my absence the BBC had just zapped the Messageboards. Like all the other posters I send my thanks for this board being set up so quickly as a lifeline. Good work.

It's good to know you found this messageboard. There had been much concern that people would find the BBC one closed, apparently with nowhere to go.

I see that the links to the message boards on the Radio 3 home page and schedule page have now been removed. One has to dig around to find them, but in doing so one finds a link to this board on this page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/help/current-issues.shtml, so it looks as if someone from the BBC is watching us.

Well, that's a rum 'un, fellow citizen! It's not quite the permanent link on the R3 site that I had enquired about and been told wasn't at present possible, but it's certainly a sign of good will. Thanks Beeb

[May I perhaps slip in here that we have had the thanks and good wishes from the Controller ... ] I will try to get the name changed to Radio 3 Forum which is the present title of the boards.

This is a little belated since I've already posted a couple of messages, but I just want to say thanks for this more-than-welcome replacement for the late lamented BBC boards. The splash of colour was a trifle startling after the Corporation's more subdued decor, but I seem to be getting used to it, and I'm looking forward to hanging around here for a goodly time to come.

I've followed the discussions on the other boards for years, and life wouldn't be the same without you all. Many thanks to FF for this new and better place. I don't suppose I'll be posting much because the technology will defeat me (old dog).

Hope you'll leap in whenever you feel an urge to add something, dilbs. I like the idea of a 'better place'

Very good news about the link on the BBC Radio 3 Board.

Hello everyone - you won't know me as a) I've changed my screen name and b) I didn't post much in the old place although I had been hanging around for a couple of years. It's great to have this new home as I would definitely have missed the company (although perhaps I spend too much time here and not enough doing other things ...) Like everyone else, I'm grateful to ff for all the hard work and for getting us re-housed so quickly. Here's to the future!

And I've just found this (I think, anyway - my computer skills aren't up to much really) and isn't itr nice not to have to wait three weeks before a post gets up on to the board if you're new?

beacon. I wonder why you changed your name ...?

... because I never liked the one I ended up with originally - I can't actually remember why I chose it but I think perhaps that my first idea was already taken and so I opted for one of the alternative suggestions. Anyway, there's no sinister reason for the change, I assure you!

                                Hi all
I hope some of you remember me from the old Radio 3 messageboard. I am very dismayed that it has been pulled with such short notice!
Anyway this site seems very familiar and I can see some familiar names here - Roehre, Sidney Grew (!!?), Mary Chambers, Salymap, FF of course. Lets hope Hornspieler, Genial Horn, Peter Katin, move across. And KCII. And Simon_says.
Oh the days we live in....
