Are avatars the images beside members' names? If they aren't working I'm rather disappointed - Mary's rose seems so appropriate - lovely & fragrant. Bryn's dashing gentleman on a horse also seems to suit one's idea of him. I suppose they must have been randomly assigned by the programme - so clever of it!
Floss, I will send you a PM - look at the top line of the page for 'Notifications'. When it's highlighted in red you will have a message - click on the red button/Inbox.

Hi Anna, I might give it a go, but I'll have to think long & hard to come up with an appropriate image - perhaps members might make a few suggestions? ;)

& I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of congratulaions for FF & her crew. <thumbsup>

My resolve not to get involved again in message boards lasted about 8 hours! New MB, new name - I used to lurk and post as Michael-R-T. Thanks to ff and here's to many entertaining and informative discussions.

Oh, are we that seductive? It's good to see so many people unable to resist!

Thanks Frenchie (if I might be allowed to address you in such a familiar manner :)) - I'll think up a suitable image that sums me up!

I intended to observe the seven-day moaning but have decided to put that aside and jump in now as I have seen something interesting.

french frank, I see Alyn Shipton is registered. So why not Rob, Andrew and Jonathan?
(Oh! I apologise if this has been raised)

Well, anyway, here I am. A different kettle but the same fish.

dover - great to see you. With the wonderful launch of the boards, all cylinders go, who knows what may (not) be possible? After all, we are entering a new kind of, um, politics here ...

Terrific effort from FF to have got this up and sailing to dovetail smoothly with the Wreck of the Hesperus elsewhere.

That was then - this is now.
DracoM, I was rather hoping you'd find an avatar featuring a blonde-haired boy with a sneer.

Anyone know about astronomical nomenclature? Why does the constellation Draco stop at Draco λ and then leap to Draco ς ? No Draco μ ...? Was that the point about the sneering Draco M ? (no, I haven't actually read it )

Actually, I generally feel sorry for Draco Malfoy. He's been brought up as a monster by his despicable father, Lucius.

I do hope Wilf is lurking and will overcome his similar reluctance to join too, and chuck his cap in this new ring. I recall a post of his in the dying hours of the 'old place' that suggested it was because if this board prospers under independent management, the BBC gang will take it as an endorsment that they needn't have bothered with the 'official' boards in the first place. I think I've got that right. If not, I hope to see Wilf jump in and set me straight. In any case, his contributions will be missed if he does not come on board.....

Come on Wilfie!!!! :cool2: It's fun here!!!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It's difficult now to attract new people, as fewer people are likely to come across this site. I've e-mailed a few people to tell them about it, in the hope of boosting our numbers. However, it's looking very healthy at present.:)
