Nice to be here and I must say you & yours have done a splendid job, frenchfrank. The smell of fresh paint is not overpowering and I'm beginning to find my way around. Many thanks to all concerned :D

Re avatars: well, they are alrready enabled generally, as are signatures (not sure about the text under the avatar), so I can't see a reason, Russ, why you can't upload one. Your profile is showing them enabled for you personally too.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Renewed hellos to all, including migrants from the soon-to-be-old place. Bravo to French Frank and team for sterling work. We shall not be silenced, I think.
(Hi Curalach, I'm in the same country as you!)

Thank you for your hard work in setting up this forum so quickly. I'm a long-time lurker at the Radio 3 messageboards and am disappointed by their needless demise. Looking on the bright side, I always thought the BBC's software was awful and this forum looks much better. Onwards and upwards! :)Last edited by Hitch; 24-11-10, 18:41.

Hello everybody. Another long term Radio 3 MB lurker signing in. I look forward to actually contributing something now. I just hope this MB is accessible through my workplace's IT restrictions :) Should find out in the morning...

Greetings to all and cheers to French Frank in particular!! Yes - avatars are fun!!
There seems to be a glitch whereby any attempt to include an accent truncates the rest of the post (see CD Review board). Is there a facility to allow the recognition and reproduction of accents in our posts? So many good composers and players with those inconvenient foreign affectations in their names..... ;) Good to be able to include an umlaut or cedilla when it's required..."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
