We have staved off any imminent disaster by investing in more disk space, but will have to investigate further solutions for the future, since there appears to be no sign of activity dropping off ...It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

There are ways to reduce disk space - but I'm not the one to ask
Anyway, threat averted for the moment - it looks as if we might have been within a day or so of venturing into the unknown. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. I assume that the 'disk space' problem has now been solved, at least temporarily?
If it happens again, here is my suggestion for a slightly draconiancourse of action:
SHUT DOWN all the following threads, since none of them - as far as I can see - have anything at all to do with the 'Music and the Arts' output of Radio 3:
Stormy Weather, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Horse Racing, The Refreshment Room - and of course, the Politics/ Current affairs board.

AGAINST:thumbs down emoticon:
Well having said that, I personally would not particularly miss any of those threads listed - except perhaps one or two on the refreshment room.
As has been said elsewhere, whilst discussion of the "Music and Arts" output of Radio is the primary role of this forum, a little divergence now and then is a healthy thing.

Music has nothing to do with politics
As far as I know this isn't just for discussing what is on R3
and if you are suggesting that a discussion about food has no place in a forum about music then I would politely suggest that you ask a few musicians (particularly orchestral players). It's often ALL they talk about
