    Politics & Current Affairs

As intimated on one of the threads a week or so ago, a separate Politics & Current Affairs Forum is being opened.

All new posts will appear in the What's New? view, as usual (it's assumed that most people use that view). The forum is currently visible (but not yet open) above the Techie forum. Its position can be moved higher up if that seems to be more convenient. Current threads on Platform 3 will be moved there imminently, and people are asked to start new ones (as from tomorrow) on the new forum, not on Platform 3. There may be some overlap with Ideas & Theory (in which case it won't matter which is chosen).
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

An excellent idea - so those of us with high blood pressure can more easily avoid.

      Sounds spot-on to me too
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Enough joshing. The P&C Forum is now operating. If you use the What's New? view you'll hardly notice the difference.

Please note that smilies and images are diabled - and also disabled. I think.

And perhaps it should be noted here also that the Politics & Current Affairs board was launched last night and is going, as anticipated, hammer and tongs ...

                              Excellent, ff!

Those who like meaty debates on what they consider important issues now have their own Forum.

Others who don't can easily keep well clear.

Pity about the smileys, though ... they can serve a purpose in indicating mood, degree of seriousness etc?
