Yes, today two years ago is when we opened for general business - with 116 posts. Our record number of posts in one day was - would you believe? - the Jubilee Bank Holiday Monday, with 624 (that river pageant, eh?). We're currently averaging roughly 350-450 pd, 10,000 pm.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

It rained in London, here in Cornwall it was dry but breezy and cold for singing outdoor for a Charity gig. ff these boards are great for many things, not least for grumpy old men to share their views without having to stand a round! ... but also a mine of information - even if some of it is questionable!

Hear hear! Couldn't put it better!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I am really grateful for all the knowledge ,experience and love of music that other members are happy to share.
I second that from TS, and thanks also to Andrew and Mark. What a wonderful facility you've created.

Many thanks to FF and everyone on these Boards and here's to the next few years. I don't know what I'd do without my daily fix of FoR3.
Reading - and agreeing - with this comment, I thought 'Addiction' - then I thought 'We need a FoR3 Posters Anonymous'.... Then I realised we already have it...!

Seconded all these positive tributes. I dont pop up all that often because most of the topics are ones where I have nothing useful to say. But occasionally, eg Ash Dieback, I do have a tuppence worth to add. Long live the forum. A quote from Voltaire would be appropriate, except that I cant find it. But it goes something like this:

'Monsieur, I disagree with everything you say, and will defend to my death your right to say it.'

Science will die when that is no longer true.

                          Congrats to all!

Two years. It’s a long time if you think about it!

And even if you don’t think about it it’s a long time!
