And perhaps they would play one movement of it on breakfast!

A splendid and generous idea, Suffy: I'd love to hear it - and your "old 1st", for that matter!

                Best Wishes.

I have decided to dedicate the Sonata to FF and my MB friends, as you've all kept me musically sane, in my musically isolated corner of Suffolk and I greatly appreciate the musical interaction even when we don't always agree. Frenchie has done a wonderful job with these boards and dedicating a piece of music is I hope a suitable way of saying thank you.

I just hope my sonata is 'up to it' and isn't too disappointing. I think parts of it might be classified as a bit scary on the RW scale, but my music is still basically tonal. As it is in one continuous movement of about 15 mins in length it can't easily be chopped into bits for Breakfast. The earlier 1st is in 3 movements and about 23 mins long. It is beyond my pianistic abilities, but I can try and upload a few bits of it that I can get through, once I can find someone to do a rough recording in my dining room. The next problem will be to find a willing pianist, anyone know a willing good one.

Thanks again for all your encouragement and friendship this past year on these Boards and to Frenchie for her all her hard work and patience with us all.

Suffolk - I'm very, very touched - thank you.

CDs apart, I hope there is some way we can get to hear it. We need to get a well-known pianist to put it in their repertoire next ...

Is there anyone on these boards who are in touch with a pianist of this stature?

I recorded a demo on the keyboard a few Thursday nights back. I could dedicate that to the radio 3 forum!

Is there any chance for those of us with pianist abilities having a preview? Personally, I'd love to try it out.

My scores are always manuscript EA, as I can't afford all these wonderful music software packages and the free ones aren't detailed enough. What I can do is record a few extracts that I can get my fingers round on my mobile phone, the sound will of course be poor, my pianist abilities aren't great nor is my piano (the b a 9th below middle c is rather flat!) but it may give you some idea for the moment.

                                Many thanks SC
