Well I remember that John Woolrich wrote a small piece in honour of Peter Barker when Radio Three made him redundant: obviously he was too over qualified, allowing the music to speak for itself, rather than the utter bilge and senseless chit chat we have to endure today.

So its not beyond the bounds of possibility

Would you like me to ask him ?
it would require significant amounts of curry in my experience

I'm going to have to close the thread if this continues!

Thank you to all for your appreciative comments. The forum has had a very successful first year and this has been a joint effort. And if anyone is willing to act as a Host in keeping any of the classical music boards ticking over with news, information and R3 topics, please get in touch with me.

I'm very conscious of the spectre of 'dictatorship' hovering about me but, as some sort of safeguard, I'm always happy for criticisms and dissent, as and when, to be voiced on the forum to call me to account. When I suggested 'a coup' above, I did, of course, mean a palace revolution at the forum, not at Broadcasting House . Conspiracies may be hatched by Private Message ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                      Dictatorship, french frank?

Tito in his pomp, I'd say

Grateful thanks for all that you have achieved and for letting us have lots of fun and controversy without recourse to the lawyers

Hey that's extraordinarily generous of you, Suffolkcoastal

Is it possible to hear/see some of it when you're ready? And when you've decided of course

It would be lovely to hear it, Sc. Perhaps we could make a CD of it - it would be in the Specialist Chart at once if we all bought a copy
