It was for quite a long time three quarters of an hour here) and the message (if you want it) was: The server www.for3.org at Protected_Area requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection). I was working off my laptop and only discovered when I came back to the desktop for something (1st action - look at News, 2nd action - check forum).
