Grey moment, I think. Especially as nothing has yet changed (or naebody's niver tellt me onyhing aboot et).
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I think my earlier post, "All done!" has misled people into thinking the move was complete: I was actually referring to the backup

There will be another backup at 9pm tonight (Thursday) which will need the forum to be taken off line, again for 15 - 20 minutes.

When the actual changeover takes place, will the final backup lead straight into it, while the Forum remains offline, to avoid any last-minute messages being lost?

That's the intention, yes. We don't yet know when that will be, I'm afraid.

Just a reminder that the forum will be off-line for about 20 minutes from 9pm this evening.

It's way beyond me, Andrew, but thank you very much for doing whatever it is you're doing to what.

Let me explain: oh, wait …

I feel a bit like a spectator at Wimbledon, looking first one way then the other as the emails fly between Andrew and Mark who are working incredible hours at this. In addition to the regular site backups, the software upgrade has to be adjusted to the new platform from the old FQ one. I think.

My grey moment continues! Though I've started a number of new topics over the years I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it now - help appreciated.

Go to the homepage and decide which board you want to start the topic on. Click on that board. Post New Thread button is at the top.
