Absolutely right. This is just a pin board for me to post a notice if necessary - visible to all, not as harmful as using Google as a search engine, for emails - or watching YouTube!

Dave2002 - we don't know when FQ will pull the plug: it may well be before we've worked out where the forum will be (but we shall have the back-up). Hence the Facebook noticeboard for that emergency.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Via facebook, once this one disappears, I think.

I'd financially contribute too. I once donated a small fee to a poetry forum which I think had a system set up not dissimilar to the one teamsaint mentioned above.

I just get “Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid” each time I try the links that have been provided (I don’t care for me, I can find out by other means)
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It works for me - straight to the Budapest opera house balcony, as per the FoR3 website, but a bit lower. Safari isn't trying (CHORUS: Oh, yes it is!)

Another thought: we are setting up a mass mailing list to keep in touch with all those for whom we have a current email address . We shall send out the first mailing very soon with the information posted here, but I don't want to send out too often because although I've tried to clean it up (no double identities! no one who hasn't posted, no one who hasn't logged in since 2019 - still over 500 names), I still expect a large number of bounces coming into to my personal email account.

Eventually, if we get enough traffic using the site, Google will catch up with us, but that may take a little time.

I'm not sure I've seen it mentioned, but it occurs to me that it would be a good idea to download Personal Messages to my own computer a.s.a.p (even though I don't send many). Some help here on how to do it:

Former Yahoo groups have gone to Groups.io but it wouldn't be the same as this forum layout (I am a member of several groups there, it works well as a successor to Yahoo Groups but they were never a Forum). I've not been that happy with Google Groups (and Google may well lose interest in supporting them - like Yahoo decided to close Groups). I add my voice against Facebook as a re-location destination but thanks for setting up the last-resort FB page to view, to maintain means of contact.

I'd be happy to make a contribution (regularly, if needed). Thanks all involved, for the time and effort being spent finding a solution to this.........

I need to update my email address, can this be done by me on my profile ? I can’t see where it can be done.
                      Thanks.

On the 2nd Red "band" - ring menu - from the top of the web page - it starts on the left "New Posts" then "Private Messages" then others - the drop down you need is:
                          "Forum Actions" -> "Edit Profile"

Thanks, it's there so no need to change. That should answer teamsaint's query as well.

Oh, dear, team. It looks as if there was a problem with you logging in.

We can only contact you offline via your email address, and that seems now to be defunct - internally generated emails are bouncing.

You can contact us with contact@for3.org (as long as FQ survives) and update us there. The mass mailing will go to your old address (except I'll cross it off the list).
