I'm afraid that, supportive of you as I would always wish to be, my fairly frequent enforced absences for a week or more at a time would, I feel, preclude me from any moderation or "Council" role.

Howver it works, I really do think that we ought to try very hard not to go down the road of R3ok, which I thought became appalling. I mean, I disagreed a lot with Pacey, but I'd never have banned him like they did.

However, I'd be delighted - provided that there could be a co-host or two to take care of these absences - to play a role in "Hosting" the CE/Choir section.

It seems that Draco has kindly taken up the role here that he latterly played "over there", but I wonder if it would be useful if we also had someone from the world of organists/organ builders - I mean a proper one, not an amateur like me! (We could, in fact, consider a separate part within the Choir section for discussion of organ works and topics in general, if there were to be a perceived demand, couldn't we?)

Please don't hesitate to ask, though, if I can be of further help - I'm not going anywhere for the next day at least! Nobody is, around this neck of the woods! :-)

How about calling the General Council "The Orchestra Pit"? Or "The Choir Stalls"?

Although I have put my name forward, I appreciate that having too many people could be a problem, so I'm more than happy to just be a member. (I notice I've now become a "Senior Member". I'm sensitive about my age. )

Yes, I've noticed all this discrimination!!!

But I don't want to be a Senior Member, really, so I'm not hurt.

Mind you, being a Valued Member would be rather nice, if you can fix it, FF. Or even an Outstanding Member. (NB that was Outstanding, not Upstanding. Lol.

I think the CE board should definitely have its 'Synod'.

Simon, thank you. I'll include you on the list. I think that anyone who takes on any sort of 'light duties' has to listen to their community. And if you've ever tried to 'moderate' angry adults on a messageboard, you will know it can be an impossible task. All moderators are 'appalling' :cool2:

I think you'll have to post no more than 83 more posts to avoid being a Senior Member

                Thanks, Alpen.

I'll just have to be very discriminating about what I write, then, won't I?

                Blast! That's another one gone!

Hey, I've made 84 posts (now 85) and I'm not a Senior Member!

(Mind you I'm not sure I want to be have a 'Title' anyway.)

This is an automatic setting. You become a Senior Member when you've made 100 posts (you've been busy, Alps ). I could make it 500 posts if you want to be instantly demoted?

The default settings, if I remember, also had Junior Member, but I baulked at that and deleted the category .

No, I said 83 MORE posts, which would have brought Simon up to 99. It appears that you hit seniority at 100. So get posting!

Is I make nonsense posts and then delete them - will they count?

(On second thoughts I might as well leave them in situ - people would be hard pressed to tell the difference.)

Do you become a geriatric member when you reach 250 or 500?

I think it's just a title - I could make you a geriatric now if you wanted?

                              This is getting off-topic

Any more offers of help? I'll probably leave this up for a week (and bump it every day), so that everyone gets a fair chance ...

                                Sorry.

Seriously though, I would like to help in any capacity. I like the idea of helping new members to feel at home.
