    Tests

For those who are following this saga: you may have seen a colour show last night after midnight. Depending on which browser you use you may even have seen the new header title. There seems to be a problem with Firefox which is trying to display both images at the same time so further tests needed. We're back with the strawberry yoghurt/Germolene for the moment.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Is this the Unacceptable Face of Freedom ?

Any excuse to liven up our day, eh, MrGG!

Although the chocolate has temporarily gone I have been looking at the Radio 3 Home Page and top right hand corner block where it says what's on and listen live is, I think, the exact colours that frenchie is aiming for and which she came close to yesterday, and it's a nice combination I think.

Oooooh, now would I do that?! There's a darker colour, too, just below - the Playlists box. I like the sharp, clean look of the new website but our style has inherited also sorts of shadows, gradations and borders which I find a bit fussy.

I may just make the header title image a bit bigger, with the strapline underneath, and leave it at that for the moment (until I start fiddling again ...). Firefox seems to be a bit resistant to what I'm trying to do. The other browsers were all right last night

Ah, just now looked at the bitter chocolate under the Playlists box, that's nice, very Green & Black's % of cocoa mass innit? (We describe colours in food terms because it's the easiest way isn't it?) However, I disagree with you re the front page of the R3 website, to me it's bitty and messy, but, they have the luxury of a front page, this is an off the peg MB with a template that cannot be changed much.

I was browsing late last night - I liked the new colour mix. A dash of something dark and rich was good. I take your point about the Germolene (I think that is the first time in about 35 years that word and colour have occurred to me ) - I would err towards rich colours, not pale pastels.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Unfortunately, in Firefox 5 on my Mac the dashing new title looked like this:

                  instead of this:

Yes, I checked it on Safari, Opera and Camino and it was fine. I would have checked on IE and Chrome but my laptop refused to cooperate and by 2am I was past caring!

Was OK on IE, why bother with those other BoHo browers, everyone uses IE. You know Microsoft makes sense.

Good Heavens to Murgatroyd, Bopa, you're not risking the security issues which plague IE still, are you? Best of luck.
