    "Go to last post"

Is it me or does the little blue arrow button not appear when one's name has more than about half a dozen letters?

Is there another way to get to the latest post on a subject, I wonder?

Well, I clicked on the blue button and here I am. Although my name has only 4 letters so I do not understand your query about names with more than half a dozen letters as yours only contains five. However, be that as it may, I am in fact a palindrome with possible magical powers to manipulate blue buttons!

      Simon,

I've just looked down the list of "New Posts" and at the threads in "Platform 3". They all show the little blue arrow, however long the name is. Of course, your problem might be browser specific (I'm using Firefox).

        Hi!

Great to see you here! I just looked at your page.

Anyway, Miss Palindrome, you'll see that if the names are longer there's no arrow. Yours and mine are fine, naturally, as we have concise and beautiful names. :cool2:

I assume you're looking at the 'What's New? view (rather than the homepage), which is the one which has the small blue box after the member's name? I don't think it can have anything to do with the length of the name (since sigolene euphemia and LateralThinking1 are both quite long). Do you need to maximise your browser window?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

It seems to apply if you click on the "new posts" button top left under FORUM.

As you and others have said, it doesn't seem to apply elsewhere.

Where it only appears w.r.t. as yet unread messages.

All my arrows are present as well, with IE6, however long the name.

All I'm saying is that if you click the NEW POSTS button top left, under FORUM, you get to a page where on the right the new posts are listed.

If the person's name is less than about 10 letters, a blue double arrow appears beside it, on which you click to go straight to the latest post. If the name is longer, the blue arrow is not there.

It's no big deal, but it's a handy little tool. Please don't be offensive with "doh" icons if I've made an error: just point it out to me politely if you would, and I'll be grateful and also apologise.

Sorry Simon, but when I view the New Posts all the blue double arrows show up, however long the name is.

                    What browser are you using?

It might not make any difference, but is your browser maximised?

Simon - Ignore the tonic solfa . I don't get that at all. There are 45 'new posts' over three pages and each one has a blue button alongside it.

Bryn, if you understand the point, could you explain it to me, please?

I too have wondered how to get to the last posting of a thread with a single click. Such a feature would be useful.

                          perhaps w.r.t. = with respect to ?

(I have the blue double arrows on all posts in "New Posts", whether read or not.)

Click on the blue arrow under last post - on right. Takes you straight there via Marks & Spencers ...
The >>> points this way and not down.

EA, A useful practice on logging in is to take a quick look at the homepage and then go up to the red bar at the top of the page and click on What's New? (this is the same as New posts, the link just below). Things are very busy at the moment so there are three pages of 'New Posts'. Just by the name of the last poster is a small blue button. If you click on that it will take you to the latest post in the thread. Also, the main thread title will be in bold if you haven't read that last post already. If you have read it, and there have been no new posts since, the bold comes off. Clear?
