When, and where for that matter, is this starting?
I'm trying to clarify the matter of Early Music Late, but 'late on Sundays' seems to be the slot just allocated to Elizabeth Alker's Unclassified programme, (I've asked whether that's its title in which case it seems the similar to the description of Late Junction when it first started: music which doesn't fall into any given category'.) The programme seems to be on 15 April, 11.30 to 12.30, but it isn't described as 'first in a new series', so who knows?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

The first programme in the "Unclassified" series is scheduled for April 8th, and is indicated on the R3 website as first in a series of six.

Oh, thanks - I was going from the press information site which doesn't mention it for 8th April. That might clarify matters - another 6-part series.

Elizabeth Alker presents music by an exciting new generation of composers.

But notice the "Next (Episode): Coming Soon" - so not necessarily "next week". Maybe there's going to be an alternation of the new New and Early Music programmes on Sunday nights? (The online schedules for 15th April aren't yet published to confirm/confound this.)

The Radio Times online listing for April 15th gives "Early Music Late" 10.30 pm - 11.30 pm, and "Unclassified" 11.30 pm - 12.30 am.

As usual, Radio Times is more informative than the Radio 3 online schedule which has nothing about April 15th yet. Don't you just hate these automated systems that never give you the information you want when you want it? I suppose no one would buy Radio Times if the BBC websites had this information!

                - except that not even getting access to this sort of information would persuade me to buy Radio Times.

Yes - if we can get it free anyway

Let’s hope they (RT) know what they are talking about.

No reason to think they don't. The press information would often omit mention of a regular programme unless there was something especially interesting about an episode. But why EML is (apparently!) absent this Sunday, again, who knows?

But the paper copy has no Early Music Late on April 8th before Unclassified at 11.30.

If Drama on 3 moves to 7.30pm and Radio 3 in Concert starts at 9.30, there won't ever be time for an EML, will there?

Only, this will put Sunday’s Radio 3 in Concert in an odd place. The Sunday’s programme seems to have morphed into the weekday’s evening concert programme but if that is the case, it will need more than an hour between the Drama on 3 and EML. Or have I got something mixed up?

No - no EML this week. The online RT listings for 15th (described as "provisional and may be subject to change") has Drama on 3 ("Lady Windermere's Fan") finishing at 9:15; the In Concert ("The International Opera Awards") from 9:15 - 10:30; then EML 10:30 - 11:30; and Unclassified 11:30 on.

If this is going to be the "template", then it's the concert that's curtailed, not EML.

As very few 'concerts' are under two hours long, it looks as though EML could be downgraded to an occasional filler. They wouldn't 'curtail' a live concert, would they?

We shall learn soon enough, but the press stuff for April 15 has Do3 (Lady W's fan) from 7.30-9.15; International Opera Awards , 9.15 - 10.30 and Unclassified from 11.30 to 12.30.

The Opera Awards are what Radio Times has as Live in Concert (with EML in the hour between that and Unclassified, as SCB said).

There doesn't seem to be long enough for, say, a 2-hour Do3, a Live in Concert longer than an hour, EML and whatever 6-parter follows.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
