This is now resolved. A change made by the host meant my configurations had to be altered; otherwise an OS upgrade was needed to the latest version. The upgrade solved the problem, but there were rather a lot of emails waiting to be attended to. :-)It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal.
