    We are different species.
I only found out who was playing because nephew, visiting for the weekend, is a Manchester City supporter.

People with cameras (not ones in phones) are a dying breed too. I am also one of that breed

Saturday mornings are not the same without record review.

Unfortunately I got the impression from your earlier post re a cuppa that BAL started at 4.00 today and completely missed it ! Then compounded things by dozing off for the first the second half five minutes of this extremely tense Rugby Match.
Not me: blame LMcD (though I was similarly confused).

Sorry to have caused any confusion. I think cloughie was referring to a cuppa while listening 'live' to Record Review, whereas my cuppa had to wait until I settled down at 5.30 p.m. to watch my recording of the 'Tottenham Thriller'. I haven't watched or listened to a(n) FA Cup final since 1978.

The 4.00 pm reference is in fact in an original post from Cloughie which you quoted and I misattributed.

The “fault” lies not with us but with those who chose to schedule BAL against two major sporting events.

It is absolutely ridiculous. It’s almost as if they want it to wither away.

What is also ridiculous is that one of those two events was simulcast live on the country's 2 most popular TV channels.

We are, and neither did I… Being focused on 4-wheeled sport rather than anything to do with balls, BAL will be further relegated to later in the week given events in Monaco & Indianapolis…

Well even the old timing would have clashed with the support races in MC, in which I have a dog in the fight - so either way, a weekday catch-up would have been necessary

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Unlike the Championship playoff final which was ignore by terrestrial tv and BBC Radio even though there was a bigger crowd at Wembley!

Sky Sports have exclusive, and recently extended, broadcast rights for EFL matches.
Radio commentaries on EFL matches are on talkSport and BBC 5 Live. I'm not sure whether local BBC radio stations still broadcast full commentaries.

Radio commentaries of EFL matches are on talkSport and BBC 5 Live. I don't think BBC Radio Suffolk provides commentaries on Ipswich Town matches any more.
It probably doesn’t because the club has paid the BBC to encrypt it so that keen Tractor Boys fans around the land can pay a subscription to listen to the comentaries. Owls matches cannot be heard because Radio Sheffield has a similar agreement. I follow matches on the BBC website which is usually about 3 minutes delayed from real time and the live comment is painfully inadequate.

Slightly delayed scores can also be followed on the BBC Red Button service.
Returning briefly, if I may, to the confusion that I seem to have caused, I'm afraid I misread your earlier post no. 212 as meaning that RR starts at 4.00 p.m. My only excuse is that I hardly ever listen to Radio 3 on Saturdays.

According to this news report BBC Radio Suffolk does have live Ipswich Town commentary

BBC Radio Suffolk has confirmed it has a signed a deal to broadcast live radio commentary on Town’s matches during the season ahead.

Thank you. This may have escaped my attention because I never listen to BBC Radio Suffolk, and also assumed (incorrectly, as it turns out) that all really local programmes now cease at 2.00 p.m. every day following the recent cuts in BBC local radio services.

This morning is more irritating than ever. Single movements; constant chatter; tiresome interviews. PLEASE BRING BACK ANDREW MACGREGOR AND RECORD REVIEW.

                                Echo every syllable.
We have been roundly, and at every turn betrayed by R3.
