Was she not lined up as soloist on a CBSO/Rattle recording when she died: Szymanowski, I wonder?

Looks like Bach Partitas has not lit many BaL previewer’s candles then - will anyone take a 4.00pm listening cuppa today?

Sadly not me, so it might be catch-up, unless someone is kind enough to give us a summary on the thread.
We're off to hear Tenebrae singing Victoria's Requiem in Beverley Minster.

I shall be out this afternoon, and as soon as I get back I shall settle down with a cuppa to watch the recording of the big match (that's the 'other' Cup Final, the one between an Irish team and a French team).

I’ll be watching one while listening to the other.

So no BaL summary from you this week then!
I have great admiration for simultaneous translators, but your footballing feat seems even more talented.
How can you separate the commentary on one match from the visuals of another?

I might have done that but this approach is disapproved of by other half. If I watch the Cup Final it will be in the hope that it is somehow possible that both teams lose. Spoilt for choice - rugby also available and cricket later

I find out what's going on by logging on here. I didn't know it was Cup Final Day, and have no idea who's playing. Just off to the Common to play with my new camera having received tutorials from Richard Tarleton, late of this parish.

                    We are different species.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                      Get used to it:
R3 audiences, esp the long-time regulars and fans, have been roundly betrayed and abandoned.
Several concert progs, daily scheduling? Huh. R3 is becoming more and more a R2 / Classic FM mash-up / soundalike.
                      I feel empty, exasperated, deserted.

In fact I have managed to do that once - one useful skill from working in newsrooms - the ability to write with lots of tv and radio and idle chatter going on. . But It does means turning the sports commentary down a bit as you can’t listen to two audio streams simultaneously.
Unfortunately I got the impression from your earlier post re a cuppa that BAL started at 4.00 today and completely missed it ! Then compounded things by dozing off for the first the second half five minutes of this extremely tense Rugby Match.

Rugby commentary (muted) on the telly, with sub-titles if you wish, soccer on the radio - simples!

I simplify my life by discovering afterwards who the week's RR 'winner' is without listening to the actual programme, although I shall make an exception next week.
