For the time being that's good news, but it seems to be hanging on by a very thin thread right now.

Re new posts which are/were not poring over the entrails of the election, I initiated one which I feel was relevant to how things go or will develop in the post election period, and wait for the "promises" or aspirations to gradually fall by the wayside.
I'll leave it there for the moment.

Accepted that there are other means of finding you, your responses to discussions unique to this Forum have been thought-provoking and (to use vocabulary you might not approve of) inspirational.

On the other hand - if the "various reasons" include devoting more time to composing, then p*ss off!

I fully support FHG's, Roehre's and anyone else's wish that you remain a forum member and for the same reasons; it's your call, of course, but I have invariably found much of interest in your contributions here. OK, we may have our disagreements, not least in respect of the music of a certain living English composer(!), but that's not the point; I would certainly not wish to see you go.

In accordance with Richard's wish, I deleted his account last night. He will of course be very welcome to return at any time he wishes.

I should say that the main reasons he gave were that he did want to engage in serious political debate (and felt he had had some enlightening discussions here - as well as unenlightening ones) and that the Hear & Now board was not offering him enough interest.
