Sadly not: I edited my Politics post and added a comment to say that I'd changed 'benefactor, which' to 'recipient, who', but the post just says 'Edited.....'.

PS: I'll edit this now, following Andrew's reply, to say 'PS added'.

That's odd - see my posts above.

        It worked!
Andrew: you must have spurred it into action.

        Another attempt with a PS:

PS: Maybe somehow I didn't save the post properly.

Same for me for my post at 10.05. Andrew must have a magic touch. [Yes, I did press Save]

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Ah, I edited that one too and the edit was a No Show. Might be because I pressed Quote by mistake and then Edit. This time I did it correctly.

I'm now editing this a second time as the first time there was nothing.

If one edits again, after successfully entering a reason the first time, I find the reason disappears and cannot be reapplied.

I won't try that one for the moment. I've looked in the ACP for Editing settings and can only find two, neither of which seem to apply, but FYI (time limits set by administrators):

Limit on Editing of Topic Title
Specify the time-limit (in minutes) within which the topic title may be edited by the user whom [sic :-D] started the topic. 30 mins

Time to Wait Before Starting to Display 'Last Edited by...'
Time limit (in minutes) to allow user to edit the post without the "Last edited by..." message appearing at the bottom of the edited post. 8 mins

The last one explains my edits - i.e. no edit notice at all.

Actually, I find that if I leave a further edit until significantly later, I can enter a new reason, as in a recent further edit to my most recent message in the "What Classical Music Are You listening to Now? III" thread.

                      Me again

Am I dreaming, or used there to be an alphabetical order for listing threads that perhaps we could do (or was done at a level above us mere mortals)?
I thought that the Composers in the Composers sub-forum were listed alphabetically, but they don't seem to be any longer.
I ask because I spotted an obituary today for Gloria Coates, and thought of starting a new thread if one didn't exist already.
Once I saw that the entries were not in alphabetical order I did a search to see where her name cropped up (which it does, but not very often) rather than have to plod through 25 pages of posts.
The Filters (top right of the page) don't seem to allow A-Z ordering.

I seem to remember setting up the Composers sub-forum to order alphabetically. If it's lapsed, it doesn't look too hopeful, but I'll investigate.

If I'm on the homepage and click on the Composers subforum in the Classical Forum (then scrolling below the subforums) the composers are in alphabetical order though no Gloria Coates thread there?

I'm dreaming. They're suddenly not. They were a few minutes ago with ?Abrahams? at/near the top.

Got it! Under filter choose Sort by Title/Ascending. No need to refresh page. Abrahamsen at top.

                                Not just me then?
I thought that we must have different set-ups at first.

I see this order, with a separate section at the top for Mahler and Bruckner, and a ferney sticker at the top of the others (for some reason the name Messiaen didn't get copied).

Gloria Coates doesn't yet feature as I didn't start a new thread. I didn't want something going on in the background if Andrew is trying to play with the order.
