    Forum was unavailable

Our apologies if anyone was trying to use the Forum between roughly 5 and 5:30 this morning: our hosts were upgrading the MySQL server on which the forum's software runs.

Such interruptions are rare - and because they're in Florida and so performed during the European night - unlikely to inconvenience many in the UK. This was one such occasion.

From our point of view in the UK, the timing is good. However, there are one or two insomniacs (myself included on occasions) who like to post at odd hours.

      EA,

I could see that. There may just be another (shorter) interruption 'tonight'. But I'm hoping not. Our hosts are exceptional. No help ticket goes unanswered for longer that 15 minutes (usually 5) 24 x 7 x 365 (is this like 'The' hoi polloi?) and in all other ways they're ultra-reliable. That they do their maintenance late in the US East Coast night could hardly be better for the UK.

      Sweet dreams :-)

To be honest, all forums have their downtimes for upgrades (why, sometimes the old R3 MBs even did so!) so it's not major, more a case of go and make a cup of tea and listen to TTN for a while!
