I agree entirely. Whenever anyone on Friends Reunited asks me to be a friend, I ignore it. Friendship is something that grows through mutual understanding, not as a result of a tickbox.

Actually, there's a good reason for a "MB friends" category: you can create private areas in your profile which are only viewable by permission ("friends only" private groups, private visitor forums, private photo albums, etc.) Why not do something creative with your space? The more the merrier!
