The main change is that as from Jan 1st the (sub) forum Politics & Current Affairs is now closed for new discussions/posts but can still be viewed here, as before.
There was much that people appreciated, and it should certainly be possible to accommodate such discussions on existing boards (eg Ideas and Theory which was set up specifically for the discussion of political, theoretical and philosophical topics - and many thanks to Calum for keeping that going).
What will no longer be allowed is the narrow party political 'debate' and the associated current affairs which provoked some mindless point-scoring and ridiculing. If it spills over on to the main boards, posts will be deleted and, eventually, members excluded from specific boards altogether.
It would be possible to start a News board under the Arts forum if wanted.
The second change is (I think) that this Announcements board has been closed for general posts: it was only ever intended for administrative announcements but I never managed to find how to do it. I think I have now. If there's a need for a Members' Announcements, it can be opened.
