    Email addresses

Could members always make sure their email addresses are kept up to date via their profile pages, please. If they have checked to receive any kind of forum notification - subscribed threads, PMs - or have entered a birthday date, the software will automatically send out an email to that address which will bounce if the address is no longer valid.

[The same applies to any FoR3 supporters: in the majority of cases it's the only way we can contact you - e.g. for newsmailings (Sept update just sent)].
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Errm ... my "profile pages"? I clicked on "My Profile" at the top of this page, but there was nothing immediately obvious there concerning e-Mail addresses - and, as it's all in the public domain, I wouldn't want it to be. I assume that there's another page where such information is kept privately - but I don't know where this is.

Sorry for misinformation - I was going from (faulty) memory.

Yup. They all go out in one go. I'll check with Mark that you haven't dropped off the list (it can be a bit officious). Meanwhile, will send another.

I realise, though, that I sent it to your "forum" address, rather than the one I think we have for the group mailing ... will still check with Mark.

AFAIK I only use the one 'public' email address - basically a read-only inbox which is spam checked then forwarded to a private email (which also gets a spam check) - catch with having an email on a website (even devoted to a specialist and rather insular topic) for over 15 years

                    I don't recall ever receiving a FoR3 mailing.

                      1. This forum is for Radio 3 listeners - plus anyone else who has an interest in the various areas of interest - classic/jazz/world music, spoken arts &c. They don't get newsletters since there is no obligation on anyone posting here to support Friends of Radio 3 (and it's clear a few people don't! ). Registered supporters get regular newsletters and can contribute their own suggestions and comments. The only qualification is that they write directly, (or use the contact link at the bottom of the page), give a real name (not a pseudonym) and confirm that they support FoR3's general approach (even if with some reservations).

So, if you don't support the general aims, you won't want to support us - but you are still welcome to contribute to the forum.

[Ignore the final sentence on the Aims page - we post news elsewhere now]

                      2. The email address entered for the forum itself needs to be kept up to date as there are several automatic emails generated by the software e.g. "X sent you a Private Message but your Inbox is full."

Thank you for pointing this out. I had been unaware that the Friends had registered supporters.
