Helen Edgar ‏@msbroadhedgar ·3 hrs Liebe Freiburger Cellisten. Ich brauche dringend eine Ersatz Instrument vor 20:00 in Konzerthaus für @TheCBSO heute Abend. Vielen Dank!

CBSO @The CBSO -1 hr We're sorted, cello sourced, crisis averted - thanks al!![/B]
This just happened. The cellist's instrument was damaged & they took to Twitter 3 hrs before tonight's concert & apparently ended up with two. Don't knock it.

It has its uses - but it's no use as a forum, as Radio 3's Twitter account demonstrates.

The forum will close in just over 10 minutes.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

        Flay,

I'm still here and as active as I can be in helping Sarah with the site itself. I just don't know how she finds the time to do everything she does.

BTW we got our usual mention in the PipeDown newsletter this month :-)

Find R3 tough going - but am as committed as ever.

        Thanks for remembering me!

I stand with you ... I went to bed as soon as I saw the forum was functioning again - and have logged on this morning to discover an entire 5-act drama in emails beteen Andrew and Mark, of which I understood very little

Sorry to fill up your inbox, but we wanted to 'keep you in the loop'
The maintenance only involved uploading eight files; the main discussion was on the precautionary database backup, which appears to be smaller than the original. Investigations continue.

And I did welcome it - I pick up bits and bobs here and there.

I gathered the patch was easy to install on this occasion but that the problem of backing up the ever increasing database has presented a bit of difficulty in the past. That appears to have been solved for the present, so ER need have no fears of over straining the system single-handed ...
