    The new Radio 3 messageboards

The closure of the BBC Radio 3 messageboards wasn't totally unexpected but the timing took us by surprise. We were planning to reopen this forum if necessary but haven't had time to make all the adjustments that we wanted. With less than a week to go before the BBC boards close for good we've decided to open as we are so that there is a meeting place for the community to carry on discussing and chatting. The refinements can be added later.

The old member lists have been kept, so if you were a member, and if you can remember your username and password, you shouldn't need to re-register. If there are any problems, there's an email address to contact us for help.

Hope you'll join us when our old boards close and keep our community together. We can then adjust to whatever people want assuming that, in the time-honoured fashion of Radio 3 listeners, we all agree :)

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

    new R3 messageboard

yes, I have just registered and now will be reading this forum instead of the old R3 board, which apparently is being killed of by the BBC. I am just wondering how much the powers that be really care about R3 ?. what do they want?. [I] think "they" should give listeners some clue as to wht isgoing on. we know that BBC cuts are inevitable, both for programmes and staff, but where is the future for R3

I don't know whether one or several persons have designed this site, but I want to compliment you on its appearance and user-friendliness. I find it very attractive! It enlarges very nicely (much better than the BBC boards). I was devastated to read about the closing of the BBC boards but feel saved by the bell with your site. My only concern is how new people will find you.

Nice to see some old names on here! Yes I think probably changing to what people want would be a good idea all in good time. Afterall if the messageboards on R3 did keep going that would probably have happened anyway!

I will be posting a last reply into "what are you listening to now" on Tueday. Will think about a finale piece that everybody loves!
