ICA Classics issued a DVD some years ago of Previn conducting Rachmaninoff's "The Bells" at the 1973 Proms. I must drop them a line and ask why his performance of "Carmina Burana" - complete with the incident discussed here - was not issued. I'd have thought it would have made a best-selling DVD! ... Incidentally, what do you make of Sheila Armstrong's attire in this performance ...

I think she managed to sing the right tune and particularly as AP was conducting got her notes in the right order!

Perhaps the soloists had been provided with a preview of the score.

I liked her dress very much, but then yellow is my favourite colour!

I feel sorry for female soloists as their chosen wear is commented on more than men's, so choosing what to wear must be a problem.
