Simply go to BBC iPlayer, click on 'Search' and enter 'Beethoven For Three'. (You need a BBC iPlayer VPN - whatever that is - if you're outside the UK)..

It's playing properly at the moment.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thank you LMcD and Thank you f f, perfectly prompt and precise! I have bookmarked the link for listening later.
I hate to even mention that I thought I'd had the luck to see again the televised Prom; I take it that it is audio only. I'm spoiled by the technology now available but perhaps it's too much for me to handle and I'm grateful for the chance to hear all of that outstanding Prom.

It seems that it's easier for people outside the UK to listen to BBC Sounds than it is to watch BBC iPlayer.

Following our PM exchange, LMcD, your link did not work for me. Thanks all the same.

Sorry about that - are you sure you can't access this concert using the straightforward method which I gave in post no. 31? (Ironically, that's how I found the link, which I didn't actually need).

f f, I'm updating to say that I listened to your Sounds link, as well as the video sent by LMcD, which I coveted. I'm glad to say I found it well worth hearing, including as it did the interval discussion on Piano Trios, which covered quite a period. Thank you both, once again.

In your original post you said 'I would be very interested in hearing this Prom again' and in my benighted fashion, the concept of possibly watching it on a television set didn't enter my head . So glad you enjoyed it!

... and if you'd just listened, you'd have been deprived of the opportunity to marvel - or not - at the fantastic light show.
I recorded this Prom from my TV and look forward to revisiting it over the years.

I realise I missed a lot by only hearing the concert without the visuals. And I subsequently missed even more by just listening to the first half and skipping the performance of the symphony afterwards

Most people who could see the visuals in this case seem to have regarded them as spectacularly intrusive.

I am still listening to both links to Prom 54, but as a last comment on this thread, I thought I would add, as a Prom Pop, a further Piano Trio to that collection - which I have just heard a moment ago. However, for fear of misplacement, I shall post it on the Jazz thread.

I am catching up with my recording this being the 16th concert I've captured this season off R3 but jeez, thank god David Owen Norris didn't have to spar with Tom Service during the comments phase: the RAH defibrillator would have been investigated for lack of suitability, except it would have merely been incapable of reviving someone whose last breath was given to such showing off. Knowledge is power but at moments like this I wish for an outage.

I made sure to record the two halves separately, as I do with most concerts.
