First they try and get rid of them, then they put on a celebratory Prom...

For 6 of the selections, I've added links to webpages for the texts, for anyone who wants to catch up later and follow at least some of the texts, since no digital program was available, AFAICT. In the case of the Lucy Walker setting of the Sara Teasdale text, the online text doesn't look to be a perfect match, based on one real-time hearing. However, it's close enough, at least.

Good and fairly well jam-packed concert by the BBC Singers from Bristol. Interesting to note that the oldest work on the program is Britten's, from 1944. To paraphrase a remark once uttered at a Cadogan Hall choral PCM back in the day: "10 composers, 8 of them living, 2 of them here".

Full marks to the BBC for arranging these 'residencies' for people who can't attend concerts at the RAH. If the Proms are to expand and attract new audiences, surely this is the way to do it?

Agreed . I was also impressed with the ParaOrchestra concert yesterday and the BSO today .
