The TV side isn’t Radio 3 but the TV music people. There’s no hype in the Glasto presentation and no hyperbole but plenty onstage obvs. To listen to Georgia and Petroc on Friday you would have thought the first night was The Second Coming. It’s just a concert ..

What I witnessed of the tv presentation seemed intrusive and not very useful - unless you start from the premise, as I was suggesting, that the presenters have to sell classical music as being interesting.

'If you are unable to purchase online, you can book from the Door 12 box office from 10.30am on the day. Except Proms 3, 11, 12, 20, 22, 29, 38, 47, 48, 54, 63 & 64 for which Day Promming tickets will be available from 10.30am the day before the Prom ... Your ticket guarantees you a space in the Hall. We are limiting queuing at the point of entry to 90 minutes before the concert starts, however for those wishing to secure a specific place in the queue, queue numbers will be handed out from 9am on the day of the concert. Please go to Door 12 to collect your queue number.'
For me, online sales are an improvement because I spend less time in the queue, and I know I have a ticket before going. This time I didn't have a number and got there after the Gallery queue had already been let in, but I was still just about able to find a place with a view.
