I think I suggested it might be a copyright issue but I didn’t suggest it only emerged post transmission.
If it is a copyright issue it would have been sorted out pre transmission believe me. I have no inside knowledge of this concert but it’s possible that either the performers or the composer might have withheld digital on demand rights and just agreed to a one off transmission. All the relevant contracts would have been signed pre transmission . Although you can take a chance on filming buskers* in the street you wouldn’t with multi million dollar international talent.

    * these days you even have to get buskers to sign release (effectively copyright ) forms. Believe it or not I was at local amateur cricket match being filmed by Disney- and one poor runner was having to get every spectator being filmed to sign a form . Absolutely over the top but the Yanks want everything tied up legally to the last comma.

If either "the performers or composer might have withheld digital on demand rights and just agreed to a one-off transmission" this should have been sorted at the planning stage. In any event, the tag on BBC Sounds that " this programme will be available shortly after broadcast" should be discarded.

True enough . I guess all that is automatically generated. It’s pretty rare for digital on demand to be restricted so totally in this way . A recent example of deviation from the a 30 day or one year digital window is the Coronation. In fact on TV the standard on demand window is these days usually a year. I’ve noticed that some TV prom relays are available for a year and others e.g the Rattle / LSO Mahler 2 only 30 days. That’s what makes me think the issue over the Stevie Wonder is likely to be a copyright one. Another explanation might be that the material is being re-edited as the artist has retained post transmission edit rights. That’s something one or two very famous names in the rock business routinely enforce, (As indeed do the Royal Family).
