The last time I heard Shostakovich#10 live from the aproms , I suspect the orchestra was the BPO. I e joyed tonight’s perfirmance just as much!

Yes the string precision in the finale was something else.

Some good Shostakovich to be expected in London now as Noseda continues his cycle with the LSO and Petrenko will no doubt be doing plenty with the RPO…

The only time I’ve heard this symphony live at the Proms was August 20 1968! A performance where music transcended any possible verbal response.
Petrenko’s RLP0 10th is extremely good but a live performance brings something extra from him. Fantastic
