Grażyna Bacewicz is becoming quite a well-known name round these parts. Any comments on her piece?

I shall listen to it in due course. I was attracted to her music when the revival began a few years ago (there's a useful Hyperion disc conducted by Ronald Corp), but I'm beginning to think she's one of those composers I dont want to hear too often, like Alan Hovhaness: all right in small doses.

I didn't catch up with this until the BBC Four broadcast on 30 July. BBC Phil on top form in the C-T and particularly the Bartok. Excellent debuts for the soloist and conductor. Very enjpoyable concert.
