Politics resembles religion in that most people who have firm beliefs think they are right and any other viewpoint is wrong

It's more a question of having said, repeatedly, and for many years, that if this is carried out and there is no opposition to it, these will be the consequences, and been proved pretty well right. alternatives were never never given a chance. If they had been, maybe those of us of firm beliefs might have been proved wrong. But at least those of more leftist persuasions might have been given a chance to learn the lessons history teaches those without power over decision-making; after all, leaving aside for a moment all we've gathered by way of knowledge about psychology, just by looking at the mess the rich are making of running things, we have already learned a great deal!
