Is there a date for publication of the Chilcot report yet?

              Your second link contains this:

"Concerns over the influence of freemasons on the criminal justice system in 1998 led former Home Secretary Jack Straw to order that all police officers and judges should declare membership of the organisation."

What was Straw doing allowing this insubordinating snub to pass without public revelation and discussion? Is this the same Jack 'Last Man Standing* Straw who marched his son William to a police station when Straw discovered that William's apparent drug-dealing was about to bubble up into the Press? And isn't William now on some constituency short-list?

This serves to convince me that we need a series of public enquiries into corruption in our society. Not only must we do it, but we must be seen to be doing it if we are to continue to lecture the rest of the world about corrupt practices.

              Pass the sick-bag, Alice.

              *The title of Straw's autobiography.

Is that genuine, Cali? I'd hate to sign something that would unwittingly have my name included on secret files...

Speak English or lose benefits: Cameron to stop payouts to immigrants who use taxpayer-funded translators
The latest proposed crackdown reflects the influence of Australian-born Tory election chief Lynton Crosby. Mr Crosby is said to have given orders that the party must produce ‘a new policy to curb immigrants and benefits’ every week.
