The [Indian] Supreme Court on Wednesday reinstated a colonial-era ban on gay sex that enables the jailing of homosexuals in a major setback for rights campaigners in the country.

Hindustani Times undertook a poll of readers asking whether or not they agreed with the court's rescinding the law. An overwhelnming vote of over eithty per cent voted against the Court's ruling.

Avaaz is organising a petition of the Supreme Court and of the Indian Parliament.
