Attaboy Ferret - the news this morning about demonstrations in Jerusalem suggests the heat is getting to Israel's politicians.

The BBC has nothing to do with it. (As Ferret has pointed out) The Games Organising Committee is responsible, & I would thgink that such details are planned well in advance (if only to make sure people are available).

In more than half the countries in the Commonwealth, homosexuality is still illegal, and in some cases punishable by death. There really isn't any need to make a simplistic point. John Barrowman's gesture, ( and incidentally he's a talented entertainer and actor )was completely to the point. There's been a lot of debate recently about what constitutes British values. It's high time that we started standing up for them. Absolutely.

I was referring to the fact that the BBC (which has sole domestic television rights) selected Thorpe as one of its TV studio pundits. It was you (as ever) who brought up the relevance or otherwise of his sexuality not I.

So I responded accordingly,.and I consider appropriately, with a tiny doze of gentle sarcasm!

Could it be that his sudden newsworthiness and availability made him what is known as a 'no-brainer' as a pundit?

As for "So I responded accordingly,.and I consider appropriately," - why, thank you Mary Poppins!

'Accordingly'? My comment was about him being chosen as a flag bearer - I said nothing about his role as a pundit.

Doze? It certainly provokes yawns from me.

                          The poor dear!
If he really is a Christian, why is he so full of vindictive hatred and bigotry? None of my Christian friends have any of these miserable attitudes.
Maybe his time would be better spent searching out the hypocrites in his own organisation who have brought misery and despair into the lives of many thousands of children.
