Time for who to refer whom thereto and, once again, at whose expense? That's not up to me, I'm afraid - and why such an idea should occur to you in any case merely because it makes no sense to you I cannot imagine.

Am51 wrote of the Taleban that "they are not deterred by your scorn and complacency and your name-calling". If indeed they were deterred by it - or indeed by anything else - they would have to know about it and to fear it sufficiently for it to discourage them from action that they might otherwise take; if on the other hand they were not deterred by something, that could mean either that they have no knowledge of it or that they would know about it but not be discouraged from taking action as a consequence of such knowledge. That seems pretty straightforward to me.

One might think that it's time for another referral to the Plain English Campaign in that, were you to be referred thereto, you might find help towards a better understanding of Plain English; however, in the interim and regardless of that, it is time to unhook the thread from your pernickety pedantry, let am51's point stand and then move the discussion forward constructively.
