And if you believe seven virgins are waiting for you in Paradise then you are totally twp.

      I agree, amsey ...

This evening I've just seen David Baddiel on television declare to the world that he's 'a fundamentalist atheist' bampot. Presumably he has as much evidence to support his 'fundamentalism' as the 'Christian fundamentalist' bampots.

However, to be fair, this particular 'fundamentalist' religious bampot might not have realised he was off-stage.

That was the intention of course. Try not to fall for it.

Yes, I take the simplistic view that it is wrong for a bunch of murderers to walk into a crowded shopping centre and start spraying bullets around, whatever twisted logic you choose to use to excuse it.

You're not even trying to make it look as though your lips aren't moving, are you?

                          NO one has done that
That is in your head matey

I take the "simplistic" view that selling arms to dodgy states is immoral

I take the "simplistic view" that it's probably not a good idea to allow countries to posses illegal nuclear weapons

Daniel Barenboim wrote an interesting book about music called........ "Everything is Connected" I don't suppose that makes sense to you ?

Heavily indebted to Edward Said, I'd say.

                            I see you're back to your 2Ws=R argument ;-)

I really don't understand why some people find those such difficult ideas to deal with.

                                Not at all
I'm back with the idea that
maybe understanding the reasons why some things take place ISN'T the same as supporting the things that take place
but some folks (as TS) seem to have a problem with that ..........

Educational psychologists would call it "modelling"
You can't expect people to abide by what are civilised ways of behaving if you yourself are breaking them somewhere else
You can't expect your teenage children NOT to start smoking if at the same time as saying it's a bad thing, you nip out for a crafty fag in the ad break ........ simple really

The problem is that it's not in our "national interest" to be ethical
None of which is excusing terrible things that delusional people do
