Yes it is gross - your deciding what women should and shouldn't find offensive.

Just because a number of women laughed at Godfrey's 'joke' doesn't mean that other women (and men) shouldn't take offence at what they see as a sexist remark.

    That's all.

No it's not. It's you that seems to be making that decision for them not me!

I'm all for women and men making up their own minds. If some find certain things 'sexist' that's their right to say so. However, it's also another's right not to take things too seriously and prefer to laugh even if the 'joke' seems pretty weak.

Some are perfectly entitled to take offence if they so wish. That's their conscious decision.

Others may have a rather thicker skin and have the ability to laugh at their own kind as well as other people.

What depressed me last night was the line up on Channel 4 News of the UKIP young people's branch. There they were, sitting in rows as if in class, all neatly dressed with ties and in some cases lounge suits, earnest in manner and prematurely middle aged. I felt like telling them 'Go out and play ! "

Does that actually make a material difference? Somehow, when thinking of disagreements between them and UKIP (which I admit that I do not do often), the expression "the unbelievable in pursuit of the unelectable" springs suddenly to mind, though even then probably only in order to banish the thought of the notorious "UKIP if you want to" &c...

As I noted previously, should UKIP make any visible running in the next General Election (which it would have to do if it's even going to expect to secure a seat or three), the only likely effect would be further to complicate the entire business of who's to get into bed with whom thereafter in order to form the next unelected coalition
