I'm certainly no 'Kipper' but I do have some sympathy for Bloom. It's a sad day for freedom of speech when every word uttered is scrutinised by the media to ensure it is 'politically correct' and doesn't offend their own and the Establishment's 'sacred cows'.
It has long been my belief that the 'Politically Correct' are our modern Puritans. Today's absurd events only strengthen that belief.

I'm sure he will get over it
it only seems to be Nige who can hold it together for long enough to appear momentarily to be sane

If you read the remark in context, it was clearly a joke and provoked quite an amount of laughter from the female members of the assembled audience.
Sadly the only politicians we get nowadays are bland nonentities who never say a word out of place for fear of being pilloried by the media.
I am very surprised, and somewhat dissapointed, that Mr.Farage has reacted thus, but I fear he was given no choice by the baying mob.
And as for Mr.Bloom whacking that self-important little git Michael Crick over the head- more power to his elbow!!
I don't think any of this will stop UKIP's rising amount of support.
Bloom's problem is that he's so old he doesn't realise that, in the natural course of the development of the language, the meaning of slut he's familiar with:
1. a. A woman of dirty, slovenly, or untidy habits or appearance.
has been almost entirely overtake by this one:
2. a. A woman of a low or loose character.
The same is probably true of scotty, who would not, I am sure, normally call into question the sexual morals of a roomful of women, nor would defend anyone who did.
But seriously - I do wish that when the Beeb interviews Farrago (or anyone else from UKIP) & he bangs on about how awful the EU is they ask him why he accepts subsidies for his farm from it, & why UKIP MEPs take all the allowances they can (even when they don't attend).
