i apologise for those who appear to be allergic to my Guardian links but realistically it is only that newspaperthat treats issues of homophobia and heterosexism with any degree of intelligence.

Here's a link to a Guardian interactive piece about what it is like to be a member of the LGBTI coommunities in various conutries. Much of it makes grim reading but there are glimmers of hope too. In UK in 2013 it can be all too easy to assume that for me as a gay man all is more right with the world than ever before, but these moving testimonies point to a different set of realities.

These testimonies also give the lie to those who would argue that as 'foreigners' who live in Britain we have no right to criticise other societies for their Human Rights records.

      The interactive testimonies world-wide ...

Or in other words, it is only that newspaper that reports such issues in a manner that you agree with. How many other newspapers do you ever look at anyway?

I never look at a newspaper, thanks Pee - I read several and magazines and journals too.

          What about you?

You're right, I don't link to newspapers I don't agree with as a rule - I leave that to you (linking to newspapers I disagree with, I mean).

Final point - you haven't posted since 06 November apparently but now up you pop to have a pop, as it were. Have you been poorly?

No, what we are trying to explain is that it's easier to support oppressed and discriminated against peoples of the world by acknowledging oneself to being a member of the HUMAN race as opposed to a privileged person fortunate to have been born heterosexual (for example) and lived in the UK.

And since when did you provide links to papers with some or all of whose contents you might or do disagree?

Gosh, I didn't realise you followed my activities so closely! I've never had a stalker before.....

No, I haven't posted for a while, I'm a busy little Pee these days, and the boards have been a bit quiet these last few weeks anyway, until you breathed fresh life into this otherwise dormant thread. You're like a dog with a bone, aren't you?

Don't flatter yourself, I was hoping against hope, but no it wasn't to be .....

Your crass description of 'a dog with a bone' says a lot more about you than it does about me.

On the contrary, the fact that you have picked up on that common phrase and so crassly spun your own meaning to it says absolutely everything about you.

As you so clearly have no interest in this thread, other than to have a pop at me & ahinton, I'd be grateful if you would just confine your abusive activities to yourself, shouldn't be difficult you've clearly had a lifetime of practice.

Sorry, Mr Pee, but who's paying what to whom, why, where, how and when?

Oh, sorry, it was supposed to represent a drum/cymbal strike, as often used to highlight a particularly lame or feeble attempt at a joke.

For someone who professes so little interest in its subject matter, he has certainly made a shedload of contributions to it. One is moved to ask oneself why.
