Come on, Sherlock. The clue is in the quote box.
Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

You'll have to accept that, as a contented gay man who is also keen on the equal rights of other oppressed peoples, I cannot make the conceptual leap you require of me.

I can read, thank you! But what is the point here (other than that there isn't one)?

I appreciate your honesty and candour in that statement as it explains a lot about your reasons behind many of your posts.

(Posted with sincerity and no snide intention or sarcasm and so I hope you will take it in the spirit in which it was made).

...as indeed has been the case. That said, I venture that being "keen on the equal rights of other oppressed peoples" does not of necessity require one to be "a contented gay man"; people of all sexual persuasions are percfectly capable in principle of being concerned about the rights of oppressed peoples, as I'm sure am51 would agree.

If you're so contented you don't half whinge a lot. And you call yourself oppressed.

                Make your mind up!

Oh deffo ahinton, as has been demonstrated by many good people on here, including you.

I was merely providing a personal context.

Maybe I'm more of a glass-half-full person than you are, Mr Pee.

Believe me, I made my mind up about you years ago.

Not all gay atheists take the same one-sided view of 'oppression' as Ams, tho' ...

Last week's ruling of the High Court in London banning pro-family Christian couples from fostering children has even self-described "gay" atheists concerned.

Starkey has no time for religion yet he can see through all the 'liberal' hype and that other side of the coin, which appears to completely elude some here!

His honesty and sense of fair-dealing is commendable, considering his past personal experiences at the hands of the police.

I doubt that David Starkey is a big fan of Hegelian dialectics.

                          Starkey contradicts Hegel's dialectics

But at least, even if so, the glass would be half full of something worth imbibing, whereas I shudder to imagine what Mr Pee's might contain, even if it isn't pee...
