How do you know it's a 'fact'? Where's the evidence?

Are you quoting some dodgy opinion poll of 600 'some people' or something ... ?

The things that you "see", scotty, never cease to amaze me, though quite how even you could "see" a "visually-challenged" "moment" of any kind is probably beyond most of us here. No "answer" is sought or required because no question has been asked in am51's post; more importantly, however, nothing in that post does other than report what Sir Alec Guinness did about that book and, in any case, quite how am51 or indeed anyone else could "dictate" to the deceased as to what they should do with or about anything (even if such was their wish) is arguably quite beyond any of us here.

England and Scotland may be the latest two countries to be divided by a common language but when a Scot is on each side of that dividing line and the division of understanding still pertains, it's surely even more notable...

Are you seriously questioning or doubting that any human being who is not female can be attractive to people? I'm beginning to get worried about you...

Certainly not; I leave that kind of thing to the experts.

Who are you to dictate to a man of Sir Alec's stature (albeit posthumously) what he should have done with the wretched book?

Well done to the sadly-missed Sir Alec for an impressively decisive act, I say!
Did I dictate what he did with it? No.

I mentioned the fact of his burning it, after having read it.

Does that tell you anything about this born-again Catholic and his relationship with his sexuality, scotty?

Hitler was keen on book-burning too.

So now Sir Alec Guinness had something in common with Hitler as well .... good heavens ... seems like history must have unfairly judged poor Adolf with all these rather flattering associations?

Both book-burning Catholics, and Guinness once played Hitler in a fillum - curiouser and curiouser.

I am unable to confirm that no books were harmed in the making of said fillum

And he was a vegetarian too, Hitler I mean, so obviously all vegetarians are tainted by association with the Third Reich. Alec Guinness doesn't seem to have been a vegetarian, by the way, but famous gay actor Ian McKellen is - what are we to think?

There are some things that ought to be scotched
And our scotty does need to be watched
                        When linguistic invention
                        Doth mask his intention
And seems to be more than just botched.

About something else entirely, one may presume (and hope!) - provided that scotty will let us do so...

Serena (as he's known to his fan) is not a Catholic as far as I am aware and Seralec was not a vegetarian, so I'm not sure where you're going with this one, Richard Barrett
